Freedom of Press and Moral, ethical codes aren’t constant or universal

FullSizeRender-2FullSizeRender. Further more the United Nations has declared that freedom of press is basic rights  (article 19, Universal deceleration of Human rights). This year UNESCO focuses on the  , the need for quality journalism, reporting that is accurate and independent and Gender imbalance in the decisions making position in the media and digital safety because the digital communications make it difficult for journalist to protects themselves and their sources . The first Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of press.” it is very interesting founding father put limitation on government because they know what benefits might a free press bring to American society. I believe even the most outspoken advocates of free speech therefore recognize that there should be limits how far we can allow words and images can cause the violence and hate. The problems are that when it comes to working out the limits where to draw the line. I do believe free markets of ideas but with in responsibility. For me free person who does not have harms himself and others. John Stuart Mill who is a liberal thinker, argues that we should be free to publish a newspaper article saying that corn dealers are starvers of the poor but not free to deliver the same message to an excited mob assembled before the house of a corn dealer. An examples of the speech that cause the violence, divided society with hate in Rwanda encouraged the Hutus to kill almost a million Tutsis. So media has so much power, it can make right wrong and wrong right former President of Iran Ahmedinecat denying the holocaust b refereeing the freedom of speech. Freedom asked for on order to promote the truth and the truth needed to set up great society.

I do believe freedom of press is needed to ensure public debate, a debate, which produce the truth that for benefits of all. Free media and freedom of expressions is an essentials pillar of democratic governance because its role in ensuring accountability and transparency. Free media provides a platform for discussion across different topics or issues.  Free media and freedom of opinion and expression are integral to guarantees that citizens can exercise their full democratic rights., free media make democracy works. Independent journalism helps the government to be more open and enhance the government to be more affective and transparent. That’s why the most corrupt countries and dictators do not like the free and independent media the media have crucial role in promoting vigilance, peace and toward the rule of law. However, I do not believe Media really produce the truth that benefits all. Today media is about rating and monopoly and the news media manager who he would like to defame or fame, the rest the crew will follow him, otherwise will loose their job. Because the most of journalist try to make living

Begin of this ear fundamentalist attacked and killed 12 people in the office of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hepdo. We also saw same response in Garland Texas, Pamela Geller a American blogger and activist hosted the Muhammad art exhibit and contest. The event consisted of the submission of cartoon depictions of the Prophet Mohamed with awarded to the best cartoon. As a result two extremists tried to interrupt the event and got killed by the police. According to Geller, she was exercising her freedom of speech rights.

It seems to me freedom of press or speech often conflict with other values, threaten the safety of the nation, the lawmakers have difficulty to draw the lines and I do believe true respect for universal values can be achieved only when we exercise of our freedoms with respect for the sanctified values of others. There should have some kind of boundaries of freedoms, because when we cross the boundaries of our freedom, then we create a anarchy like our world is facing today, we cant expect people with different culture to prioritize their values based in our norms and values. if we do that then we patronize them. Freedom of speech or expression are absolute but exists within on objectively defined context that’s context means that you can express whatever ideas you want to express as long as you do not violate others rights. The perception that the Western Media is free to publish anything as fundamental rights without restrictions is a crazy. so its crazy idea to publish and promote materials that promote drugs, hate , race, child pornography, insult one they want, deny holocaust.

We should remember is that there is no, anywhere in the world, absolute right to freedom of speech. Every nations and countries have their own restrictions and limitations. It true any can have provoked and that’s does not mean to respond with the violence and to kill anyone who disagrees with them. We should not let the violence become the rule. Democracy does not mean just freedom of speech or free media but also it-required responsibility. Same with the Muslims should see themselves same lens. If they don’t like or agree something, they cant have react with violence. I do believe religion should be free marked anyone can chose whatever they want to worship with out force or being killed. The problems with the Muslims in general is that they should try to understand those who say negative against Prophet Mohamed because they do not believe him and do not know him, therefore should not mind it, if they truly believe that Mohamed is the Messenger of Allah and sent by Allah then it will not degrade Prophet Mohamed. Event Quran itself very clear about this issue (Surah 7 199,33:48 25, 63) “ disregard their hurtful talk, Pay no attention to foolish people, and walk humbly on Earth, and who, when the foolish address them, reply, peace,” but the most of the times, choose the violence instead of walk humbly. It is time for Muslims not to play victim card and expected people to understand them but they should try to understand them too why they behave they way they do.
