In 1993, Huntington published a very controversial essay in Foreign Affairs called “The Clash of Civilization“ in which he argued that after the end of the Cold War, we would have a clash of civilizations. His works did not just explain the historical transformation but also helped us understand ways that altered how we looked at the world for good or bad.

The conflict in Mindanao between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Bangsamoro rebel groups has been going on more than three decades. The conflict has killed more than a hundred thousand people, displaced millions of natives, and prevented the development of the resource-rich southeastern part of the Mindanao region.
Ankara must overcome its fear of peace and be sincere with the PKK if it wants to end the violence. The peace process between the Turkish government and the PKK in Turkey has been lauded as a great sign of hope, both internationally and within Turkey.
