Happy Valentine’s Day

valentine’s Day is a day of love, usually associated with romantic love. But it’s also an opportunity to express loving gratitude for friends, family, teachers, co-workers.  And there are lots of fun traditions surrounding the day, Valentine’s cards, chocolates, flowers, candy hearts with writing on them. It is widely believed that the history of Valentine’s Day is obscure, however, several account exist.  One of such accounts can be traced to Romans. According to the Catholic encyclopedia , there was a  Christian saints by St Valentines who attracted the disfavor of Roman emperor Claudius II around 270 AD, Claudius II has prohibited marriage for young men, claiming that bachelors made better soldiers than married . However , despite the law, Valentines continued to secretly perform marriage ceremonies among soldiers and was eventually apprehended by the Romans and put to death on February  14.  Another version states that Valentines, who was imprisoned by Claudius II , Fell in love with daughter of Jail warden.. Before he was executed , he allegedly sent her letter signed from your Valentine. Another account, which is probably the most plausible , provided that St Valentine was not focused on Passionate love, bit on Christian love that claimed his life, as he was being killed for refusing to reject his faith. We are told  we have to have a boyfriend or girlfriend to be happy, cool, popular, or to feel good about ourselves. The images TV and social media bombard us with are filled with sensuality

We have other options, though. We don’t have to define love in the world’s terms. We can define love in God’s terms. If you believe in God. We will never find ourselves without love. Rather, we will be in love our whole lives because we live in Love.Happy Valentines
